BACKGROUND
Andy Bassich is an American television personality who plays the host of the tv series Life Below Zero which airs on National Geographic Channel. He was born in the year 1959 in Washington DC. His family lived a humble life due to the financial challenges they had. To help out, Andy decided to be a carpenter.
Andy was able to attend John F Kennedy High School but that was the end of his education since he couldn’t afford going to college. He developed an interest in rearing dogs and hunting. Afterwards he decided to move to Alaska to be a musher and supplemented it with other menial jobs to make ends meet. He was so good at being a musher that he got a role on the series Life Below Zero. It is reported that he earns over $100,000 a year from his tv series.
Aside from Life Below Zero, Andy has featured in other shows like Chip and Agnes Hailstone, Jessie Holmes, Sue Aikens etc. He settled on the bank of river Yukon with his over 35 sled dogs. Filming was going amazing until 2009 when a flood outbreak destroyed his properties and this meant he had to start his life all over again.
RELATIONSHIPS & MARRIAGE
Andy met his first wife Kate Rorke Bassich in 2003 while working as a riverboat captain while Kate was just a tourist at the Alaska Wilderness. They got married and stayed together till 2015 when they announced that they had some conflict between them. Kate stated that the relationship was abusive both mentally and physically so she couldn’t endure it any more. She left Alaska and relocated to reportedly Canada.
After some time after the divorce, Andy met Denise who become his girlfriend. She is a trauma nurse from Florida. She was born in Canada and grew up in a farm in northern Saskatchewan.
