Alix Bailey is an American professional painter who first got into the limelight after her marriage to Louis CK. Louis CK is an American stand up comedian, writer, actor and filmmaker. He has won the Grammy Award for Best Comedy Album twice and has been ranked 4th by Rolling Stone on its list of the 50 best stand up comics of all time.

Alix was born on February 1967 in Washington, United States. Her parents, Sandra Stone and William Bailey raised her in New Haven, Connecticut and also in Italy. She has a brother named Ford. Her parents were both painters hence had a major influence on Alix thus she ended up taking after her father’s style of painting. She studied painting at Bennington College after finishing her high school education the afterwards proceeded to pursue a Masters Degree in Fine Arts from Indiana University.

At university, Alix was privileged to study alongside famous artists and painters like Sidney Tillim and Pat Adams. She is now a member of The Painting Center which is a non profit art gallery located in New York. Some of the paintings she has worked on have been displayed in a number of famous galleries and art exhibitions in New York, Italy and Connecticut.

Aside from painting, Alix has also branched out into acting. She has starred in a number of films such as Tomorrow Night, Searching for Nixon, Spooky Steakout and Pootie Tang.

Louis C.K and Alix first met in Boston during a New Year’s Eve party when they were 18 years old. Louis was so drunk that he proposed to Alix five minutes after meeting her. The two eventually met once more a 15 years down the line through a mutual friend and hit it off once again. They started dating then tied the knot in 1995. They were blessed with two daughters by the names Kitty Szekely who was born in 2002 and Mary Louise Szekely who was born in 2005.

The marriage lasted only 13 years before the couple decided to end it. They cited the reason for their separation to be an inability to make each other happy. They had decided to seek counseling for a year but they were not successful. Alix now lives with her daughters in Greenwich Village, Manhattan, New York where she practices her painting profession. They do have joint custody of their daughters. Louis has since gotten married to actress Pamela Adlon while Alix has since remained single focusing on her painting career and raising her kids.
